So far I’ve had some classy suggestions (e.g. dinner party) and some goofy ideas (e.g. playground games), so here’s a good balance. You can make an ice cream social formal or casual, and I’ve done both. In fact, one of the orientation events at my college was an ice cream social.
Other than the ice cream itself, all you need to throw a successful ice cream social is cutesy bowls and lots of toppings. I personally am completely obsessed with sprinkles; I’ve been asked if I want ice cream with my sprinkles. My best friend enjoys telling the story of the time in middle school (at school, it was super embarrassing) I threw up from eating so much sprinkles.
But I also enjoy a variety of other toppings (in addition to sprinkles), such as nuts and syrups. If you get any chocolate syrups or caramel sauce, please get the magic shell kind. It’s magical and delicious. Also, pretty much any type of candy can be added to ice cream to make it even more delicious.
So enjoy your ice cream social. Hopefully, it’s a little more fun than eating a pint on your couch while watching tv (though I enjoy that as well).
